Just a little bit about me:
I graduated summa cum laude from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science in Theatre Education in May 2020. My experience working with children ranges from working as a camp counselor to co-directing an entire musical. Thanks to Missoula Children's Theatre and various drama clubs, I have experience with school theatre at all levels both as an actor and as a part of the production team.

I have been involved in a variety of choirs since 2009 including the Fort Wayne Children's Choir and Indianapolis Youth Chorale, and I have gained invaluable experiences from those ensembles. To continue my vocal training, during high school I had the privilege of attending Interlochen Arts Camp to study vocal performance. I have since returned to that camp as a cabin counselor and have continued to learn from the amazing young artists that attend IAC. Though some of these opportunities are far in the rearview, they have provided me with a versatile skill set as a theatre educator.

As a Theatre Education major at Ball State, I worked with theaters in the Muncie community to provide theatre programs at Muncie Civic Theatre, Northside Middle School, and Burris Laboratory School. Through Ball State's program, I had the privilege of working on four shows at Northside and Burris. Between painting sets for the fall musical and providing child supervision for the spring play, I have enjoyed getting to know the students and environment at Northside, and I was very excited to co-direct my first musical, Seussical, Jr., there in the spring of 2018!
That community engagement provided me with the know-how and insight to create another community partnership for the Theatre Education Production Season. As a part of my Honors Thesis, I worked with the students and Drama Club director at Muncie Central High School to produce and direct an original play by fellow Ball State student, Madison Bradshaw. My thesis not only explored the possibilities for more genuine storytelling in high school theatre programs provided by producing new works, but it also created a partnership that is mutually beneficial for both Muncie Central and the Ball State Theatre Education program.
